This Nikon F2 Photomic includes a DP-1 metering prism that’s compatible with any Nikon lens equipped with indexing tabs (the “rabbit ears”). The F2 is Nikon’s last (and arguably best) all-mechanical pro SLR, with classic all-metal build quality and speeds to 1/2000s. In good cosmetic condition, with some cosmetic wear, mostly on the baseplate.

Body notes:

• Removed dust and debris inside the camera
• Removed all old internal and external foams, cleaned surfaces and then applied new foams
• Modified the battery chamber, see Photo 5
• Lubricated the base, winding, shutter and mirror mechanisms
• Cleaned the internal flash switch contacts
• Cleaned the mirror
• Calibrated all shutter speeds to within 1/4rd stop accuracy, see screen capture
• Checked flash sync is OK at 1/80s
• Replaced a base screw
• Checked B, T, 10s, rewind, frame counter, MLU and DOF are OK

Prism notes:

• Removed dust inside the finder
• Replaced both old Cds cells with new ones, see Photo 2
• Refoamed the eyepiece frame, cleaned the lens and prism, see Photos 3 & 4 for before and after
• Calibrated the meter, see Photo 5, and checked it’s accurate to within 1/3rd stop from LV5 (1s f8 200ASA) to LV15 (1/1000s f8 200ASA)
• Refoamed the base
