The BY-MB3011 picks up sound from directly in front of the mic, other than built-in microphones in cameras or smartphones. The BOYA BY-BM3011 Camera-Mount Cardioid Shotgun Microphone is powered by a single AAA battery for up to 72 hours.

Noise causing vibrations is minimized by the shockmount that fits directly into the hot shoe mount of the camera, as well as a 1/4-20 thread on the bottom to accommodate other mounting options.
Included is a foam and furry windshield to prevent room or wind noise. A 3.5mm TRS cable is also included to connect the shotgun to your camera or smartphone.
