Leica C Overview

The dark red C Digital Camera from Leica is a stylish, high performance compact camera with a 1/1.7″ 12.1MP MOS sensor and a Leica DC-Vario-Summicron lens. The lens is a 7x optical zoom with a 35mm format equivalency of 28-200mm, which enables a comprehensive range of focal lengths from true wide-angle to telephoto. An additional 4x digital zoom is supported for extra reach. With optical image stabilization and a fast maximum aperture of f/2 at the wide-angle end, the Leica C provides effective low-light capability and its easy-to-use interface makes it a versatile everyday camera. Fast autofocus, 10 fps continuous shooting, and manual exposure control provide high-end capabilities, making it easy to shoot in difficult lighting and capture fast-moving subjects.

A 3.0″ TFT Color LCD monitor provides composition and playback viewing with 921k-dot resolution and an electronic viewfinder with 200k-dot resolution and +/-4 diopter adjustment allows stable, eye-level composition. A programmable focusing ring enables fast and intuitive control of various camera settings including manual focus.

The Leica C is the first Leica to feature built-in Wi-Fi and an NFC (Near Field Communication) module for easy connectivity. With the free Leica C Image Shuttle app you can utilize the Wi-Fi connection to instantly download images to your smartphone or tablet and then share them on social media sites. In addition, the Wi-Fi connection and app allow you to use your smart device as a remote control for the camera, adjusting aperture, shutter speed, zoom, focus, video and several other functions, including shutter release.

Full HD 1080 video is provided in both the AVCHD and MP4 formats and a built-in stereo microphone is also supported. The Leica C is a sleek and handsome compact camera that is compatible with numerous elegant and practical accessories, including several new camera cases and pouches.

The Leica C is the first Leica to feature an integrated Wi-Fi/NFC (Near Field Communication) module. Still pictures and videos can be transferred to smartphones and tablet PCs via WLAN without any cables. Simply download the free Leica C Image Shuttle app, install it on a compatible iOS or Android device and set up the WLAN link. What’s more, WLAN and the app enable easy remote control of numerous camera functions from a smartphone or tablet.

Full HD Video

The Leica C records video in Full HD 1080 resolution in both the AVCHD and MP4 formats and supports a built-in stereo microphone. A large monitor screen, an electronic viewfinder and a selection of creative modes offers numerous options for the realization of creative filming.

LCD and EVF

The Leica C offers both a 3.0″ TFT color LCD monitor and an Electronic Viewfinder. The LCD provides 921k-dot resolution and 100% screen coverage for clear playback and composition and the 200k-dot LCD viewfinder is ideal in bright conditions and for stable eye-level composition.

High-end Capture Functions

Optical Image Stabilization compensates against the affects of camera shake to provide clear images even at slow shutter speeds. Fast autofocus and a continuous shooting speed of 10 fps enable fast-action shooting and manual, aperture-priority and shutter-priority exposure settings allow you to have complete creative control of your images.

Manual Lens Ring

A programmable focusing ring on the lens allows you to make manual camera adjustments while keeping your eye on the image. It also enables manual focus control.
